A Step Ahead is dedicated to providing a safe and comfortable environment for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion (or lack thereof). Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of workshops or other events; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated at any event venue, including dances, workshops, competitions, Twitter, Facebook, and other online media. 


We hope that our dances, classes, and events will provide a chance for you to engage in social situations and learn new skills, pushing you outside of your artistic comfort zone. No other behaviors, speech, or actions that make our patrons feel uncomfortable, threatened, or harassed will be tolerated. Please do not offer unsolicited advice to other students in class out of respect for their learning environment. 


We reserve the right to take any action we deem necessary to deal with harassment. This includes verbal warnings, asking people to leave the event immediately without refund, banning individual(s) from all Groove Juice Swing events and contacting law enforcement officials. 


Alcohol Policy

While many of A Step Ahead events are alcohol free, occasional dances will involve the presence of alcohol. Please drink responsibly, which means committing to never drive a car under the influence and reflecting seriously upon your personal limits and how you may act while under the influence. Inebriation is not an excuse for harassing behavior. Underage drinking or providing alcohol to those under 21 years will absolutely not be tolerated and may result in being banned from A Step Ahead events.


Reporting Harassment

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of A Step Ahead or our Instructor staff immediately. If you notice any harassment occurring on or around the premises of our events please also bring this to our attention. You can contact us by: 


A Step Ahead is happy to help participants contact venue staff or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe and all complaints will be kept in strictest confidence.


Privacy policy

Information collected by A Step Ahead from visitors to our website or from their computers will remain private and confidential. A Step Ahead may collect phone numbers, email addresses, or mailing address information from visitors, but that information will never be used for any purpose other than distribution of information to those visitors about A Step Ahead, our classes and events, or a visitor’s registration for those classes and events.


A Step Ahead will never release any personal information submitted from a website visitor to any outside party, nor will we distribute any submitted email addresses to any outside organization or group. Should A Step Ahead be requested to release any information collected from a visitor to our website, that visitor will be notified and the decision to forward addresses or information will lie in his or her hands.


If a visitor registers for a A Step Ahead class or event via our website, we will require that visitor to supply an email address for our records and for distribution of class notices and special announcements. This includes a verification of the visitor’s registration as well as any welcoming messages that we may have for our future students.


Refer-a-friend policy

We are always excited to have new students. A Step Ahead offers a discount to students who sign up a friend and “spread the love of dance”.


Any student who refers another will receive a $5 discount off the price of any one class session. We can only offer this discount once per student. Any student may refer multiple friends and receive the discount once for each new friend.


To be eligible, a student (and the student’s friend) must make it known at the time of registration that he/she is taking advantage of this policy, and both must be registering for a scheduled upcoming class session


Videos and Recording

To protect the hard work of our instructors, Private recordings and taking pictures during class and lessons are prohibited without the consent of A Step Ahead management.  

Your instructor can allow you to record a recap of your lesson or group class for the purpose of reviewing during your practices between lessons and are not to be shared, given, sold to students or non-students or uploaded to any social media without the written permission of A Step Ahead management.


Class & Lesson Duration

All types of instruction are 50 minutes.



Students will require written permission from their instructor if he or she would like to replicate in part or whole the exercise and/or dance routines learned in group dance class or private lessons.


Program Management

Instructors, class sizes, class levels, rules and regulations are subject to change without prior notice and all decisions made by the company will be final and binding.


Payment options include

Credit Card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express), Check, Cash, or Debit (in person only). 


Refunds for Dance Lessons

Please note that there are NO refunds for all dance lesson bookings, workshops, Bootcamps or gift certificates.  At the discretion of the management, credit may be given toward future sessions in special circumstances (e.g., Medical with Doctor’s note).


Lesson Cancellation & Rescheduling Notice

For private and semi-private lessons, a minimum of 24 hours’ notice is needed to cancel or re-schedule without charge. At the discretion of the instructor, repeat No call, No Show for scheduled lessons will result in being charged at the hourly rate or using one lesson per occurrence from the dance package purchased.


Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available for group classes or private lessons.  Recipients must specify and attend a group class program or private lesson within 12 months from the booking date indicated on the certificate, or the certificate will expire and will no longer be redeemable.


Special Offers & Promotions
From time to time, there may be special offers and discounts offered through official event, marketing, or activity partners. Please note that these offers cannot be combined with any other Offers & Promotions, and have no cash value.  Offers, promotions and coupons can be used for any single purchase on regularly priced items only.

Liability Waiver
As with other recreational sports and physical activities, there is always the potential for injury.  All clients must sign our standard Liability Waiver prior to the start of their first group, semi-private, or private lesson package.


Studio Closing


Regularly observed holidays are: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day


Consent and Release
All parents/legal guardians and adult students must read and sign a completed Registration Form containing consent and release clauses


Arrival and Attendance

Class will start promptly at the designated time.  Because of limited space we ask that you come no earlier than 10 minutes before your scheduled class. Arrive with sufficient time to check in, make payment and get settled before the class starts.

Please use cubbies/hangers for belongings to ensure the lobby area stays neat and free of personal belongings.

Arriving late to class can be disruptive to other students. If students arrive later than 15 minutes after class has begun, the teacher will determine whether or not the student will be permitted to join the class on the floor, or be required to only observe.


Studio facilities. We strive to provide a space that is safe, clean, and comfortable for your enjoyment. If you brought it, take it with you or place it in the proper receptacles.

Dance Floors. Please wear dance shoes or appropriate footwear—shoes should be clean and dry.
